A website offering to hack any Facebook account for $100 is causing concern among security experts.
However, the concern is not over the site actually being able hack into Facebook accounts, but rather that those willing to believe it are being ripped off.
The site claims it can get the Facebook ID – essentially the username – for any Facebook member’s account, simply by entering the name of the individual.
This part of the scam actually works, according to experts at Panda Security, which lends it a whiff of authenticity. What someone using the site might not realise, though, is that anyone can find out a Facebook account’s ID, simply by using a search engine.
The site then tells you that it has acquired the password, but won’t release it until you transfer money via Western Union to an account based in the Ukraine.
